Your privacy is important. The Keyholder App privacy policy has a few fundamental principles:

1. The Keyholder App does not ask for your personal information unless it truly needs it.
2. Your personal information is not shared with anyone except as described below or as required by law.
3. Personal information is not stored on servers beyond what is required for the ongoing operation of the service.

This privacy policy relates to the Keyholder Android and iOS applications and associated server infrastructure (collectively "the Keyholder App"). The author of the Keyholder App is C. B. Newham FSA.

Information We Collect

The Keyholder App collects the following personal information:

• Account information: An account name and password chosen by you on account creation. These are the only personal data stored by the Keyholder server.
• Email address: Your email address is used only if you request a password reset. It is not stored by the app or the Keyholder server — it is used solely to send you a password reset code.
• Subscription data: Subscription status and purchase history are managed directly by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. No payment card details are stored by the author — all payment processing is handled by the respective store.
• User-contributed content: Comments, access notes, and photographs you contribute to the app are stored on the Keyholder server and are visible to other app users.
• Usage data: Non-personally-identifying information such as device type, operating system version, and server request timestamps may be collected to improve the service.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account and maintain your login session
• To verify your subscription status
• To store and display your contributed content to other app users
• To improve the app and understand usage patterns

Data Sharing

The author does not sell or rent your personal information to any third party. Personal information is shared only with:

• Google Play / Apple App Store — for subscription and payment processing
• Law enforcement or regulatory authorities, where required by law

Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon account deletion, your account name and password are immediately and permanently deleted. No data is retained. Note that the Google Play Store or Apple App Store may retain subscription data in accordance with their own policies.

Privacy Policy Changes

The author may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app following any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically.
