About the survey

The Parish Church Photographic Survey is a privately funded project to undertake the photographic documentation of the cultural, architectural, and artistic heritage of England's parish churches using digital photography. The current emphasis is on rural parish churches. Since the start of the survey in 1997 over 90% of the country has been covered and the photographic archive has over 508,000 images in it.

The survey is managed by a board of trustees. The Director, field worker, and photographer is Mr C B Newham BSc FSA.
